PIR detectors Passive infrared sensors

PIR sensors detect movement from infrared radiation produced by both people and objects in a specific area and measuring the change in temperature. OPTEX includes long and short-range detectors which makes them perfect for residential and stores use. The long-range PIR detectors, better for stores environments, can detect intruders from a range between 30m and 100m. In the meantime, short-range PIR detectors, better for residential areas, offers a detection between 2m and 12m adjustable to the area to protect.

Infrared barriers

OPTEX’s infrared barriers offer perimetral intruders’ detection creating an invisible barrier between two strategical points in which transmitter and receptor are located. Facing directly each other, the transmitter casts light constantly to the receptor -when an object interrupts the beam of detection, the receptor is immediately activated setting the alarm. OPTEX’s IR beams can be integrated into existing security systems, such as walls and fences, as they are susceptible of expansion, eliminating the intruder’s thread.

Double technology detectors 

​In difficult areas and conditions, double technology sensors offer more advantages, as they combine the strengths of both detection technology -infrared and microware, to provide a more stable detection. This reduces false alarms (produced by ambient factors, such as temperature changes, or small animals, the shock of any potential RF perturbation and come with an additional protection for sun and light perturbances) -increasing the accuracy. PIR sensors detect infrared radiation (heat), while microwave sensors detect movement.

LiDAR Security

LiDAR is a type of laser technology that works by sending light pulses from the sensor, so it reaches an object and the pulse bounces back. The sensor uses the time taken for each light pulse to come back to the sensor to detect an intrusion.

Optic Fibre Technology

The optic fibre sensors detect a change in pressure by light effect. If the fibre sensor perceives pressure by anyone climbing a fence, for example, it recognizes it and sets the alarm.
 
How does it work. The optical fibre sensors work transmitting light through the glass core of a cable that travels by reflecting off the cladding. In the end, the processors transform the light into electrical signals. The changes in light define other types of detecting that are taking place.

Different assembling options. The OPTEX range of fibre optic sensors offers various installation options. They can be mounted on fences to detect attempts to climb or cut them, or on walls to identify drilling activities. They can also be buried, and thanks to intelligent analysis algorithms, they can determine if an intrusion attempt is taking place.

Accurate localisation capacity of intrusion. OPTEX’s distributed acoustic sensors (DAS) provide cutting-edge technology in optic fibre detection and incorporate smart automated learning algorithms to provide a more advanced solution for applications that require long-range intruder detection sensors and precise location of the intruder in great perimeters.
